Pilates
Designed as rehabilitation exercises by Joseph Pilates. Pilates helps the whole body in coordinating upper and lower musculature with the body centre.
Pilates exercise lengthens and strengthens all the muscles down to the deepest core and re educates faulty movement patterns.
The rehabilitation therapist plans and designs your Pilates exercise programme specific to your individual clinical needs.
The Pilates message is quality not quantity. Muscles are worked precisely and efficiently, you should never feel pain either during or after a Pilates session.
When performed regularly positive changes occur, leaving a feeling of improved posture, coordination and well-being. Advanced level clients are taught functionally to perform movements efficiently and correctly at a conscious and subconscious level
Pilates is a great antidote to the stresses of modern living, you should not be able to think about anything else during a Pilates session, apart from the movements you are making and the sensations in your body. There should be a sense of calm that comes from the flowing rhythm of the exercise.
